First4Lawyers in the media: October 2019

Our annual whitepaper again received plenty of media interest featuring in The Times – Law, Law Society Gazette, Legal Futures, Global Legal Post and Claims.

The media largely focused on the way in which some PI firms are failing to capitalise on the business opportunities arising from clients calling them after 5:30pm or via social media.

Elsewhere, our annual state of the market survey was featured in the Law Society Gazette’s personal injury feature. The article, written by freelancer, Melanie Newman looked at the seemingly endless reforms the PI market has been subject to in recent years and highlighted ‘a market in great flux.’

The state of the market survey was also the subject of an article in the Personal Injury Brief Update by our managing director, Qamar Anwar.

Another article by Qamar, this time in the July issue of Solicitors Journal, saw him write on the familiar theme of the powerful insurance lobby’s hold over Westminster, in a piece entitled: A sticking plaster approach: Civil Liability Act reforms trivialise the injured.

And our regular column in Claims saw head of marketing, Andy Cullwick, look at the future of comparison websites in legal services and Qamar writing on the recent change to the discount rate, which brought some rare good news to claimants.
